Applying and Taking the Exam

A summary of the official IAAP process — always confirm current schedules and fees on the official pages.

Application steps

Create an account on the IAAP site and submit the exam application. (IAAP membership discounts the fee.)
CPACC asks you to describe about one year of accessibility-related experience, or a role transitioning into accessibility.
Once approved, schedule with Pearson VUE — online-proctored from home or at a test center worldwide.
Take the exam within your scheduled exam window. Results typically arrive within a few weeks.

Standard $510 · IAAP member $410 · Emerging/Developing Economy (EDE) $170

A discounted retake is available once within one year of the first attempt; payments are non-refundable.

Maintaining the credential

Certifications are valid for three years; renewal requires 45 CAECs (Continuing Accessibility Education Credits) earned through courses, presentations, publications, mentoring, or IAAP volunteering.

Exam-day tips

For remote proctoring, run the system check (webcam, network) in advance and prepare a quiet private room with valid ID.
Budget time per question — practice pacing with this site's full-scale mock exams (CPACC 100Q/120min, WAS 75Q/90min).
Flag uncertain questions and return after a full pass — there is no penalty for wrong answers.
